Facilitators' Guidebook: Using OLAC Tools and Resources

OLAC resources provide tools that support efforts to plan, implement, and evaluate improvement structures and processes. They can, therefore, play a vital role in helping State Support Team (SST) consultants and school district staff deepen their understanding of the Ohio Improvement Process (OIP) and how to use it in supporting system-wide improvement through collaborative learning teams at the district (District Leadership Team or DLT), school (Building Leadership Team or BLT), and classroom (Teacher-based Team or TBT) level. Facilitators of professional development (PD) and technical assistance (TA) focusing on improvement structures and processes can make use of OLAC’s highly relevant and easily accessible resources to guide the work of “OIP teams” across Ohio schools, districts, and regions.

This guidebook identifies several key OLAC resources and provides suggestions to PD facilitators about possible ways to use them. These suggestions are illustrative – certainly not exhaustive. OLAC materials can also be used in many other ways to support PD and TA. Additionally, new materials will become available as OLAC regularly updates its website, trainings, and links to relevant resources.

This guidebook features the following OLAC resources:

Part 1: OLAC Videos
Part 2: OLAC Modules
Part 3: OLAC Webinars and Podcasts
Part 4: Success Stories
Part 5: Teaching Cases
